Do-X in Manhattan

Ideas that inspire. Achievements that soar. Science that changes the world.
At the Dornier Museum, visitors are not only expected to observe, but also and especially to experience what technical development means for humankind.
From the history of the Dornier company, to legendary classics of aviation history and on to the Gallery, visitors traverse an action-packed century of aeronautic history and enter the eventful life of a leading entrepreneurial family.

The Dornier story of success: A series of world records, patents and technical breakthroughs documented in the Museumsbox reflect Claude Dornier’s career. The fascination of flying: In the Hangar, visitors can admire original aircraft such as the Do 27, Do 228 and Do 31 close up.
Accompanying these impressive aircraft – some of which are still airworthy – is a wealth of myths and legends. Facts in focus: Providing technological background information, the Gallery’s individual display pieces document how Dornier’s achievements and the complexity of his thought have encouraged progress in other scientific fields as well.

Our visitors are exposed to things they have never seen before. They learn things they have never heard of before. And they meet people whose ideas fascinate and inspire. Dornier brings the scientific spirit to life.
