Space – the final frontier

Dornier's push to the final frontier, which began when Dornier System GmbH was founded in 1962, has helped to expand our horizons in two ways. While some research satellites probe the mysteries of space, others observe our planet from above and provide us with invaluable information on our environment, the earth's atmosphere and how it is affected by solar radiation and the impact of human activity.
Visitors can follow Dornier's exploration of the final frontier as they walk through a model of the solar system. Satellite orbits give an idea of the complexity of space, and the exhibition features over a dozen spacecraft and satellite models – some of which have actually travelled into space – as well as an original segment of a Spacelab including various components used in materials research.

When you visit our museum, you will see things you have never seen before, make fascinating new discoveries and meet people whose visionary ideas continue to inspire today. The Dornier Museum makes the spirit of scientific discovery come alive.
